Ryan O'Neal starred in this early 70's heist movie scored by Henry Mancini. The album has a raw edge not present in his later 70's work. It features a good, edgy main theme and some reasonably groovy instrumentals.

Also you will notice Kung Fu movies on this site as well. What does this have to do with Blaxploitation? Well, the more action packed Blaxploitation films did not just street fight. Oh no.....they thought they were Kung Fu Masters. Chinese martial art movies gave a sense of invincibility to these actors. Seeing how cool it was to be a masterful fighter, why not just integrate this with Pimpin', Hustlin', Jive Talkin' and Pam Grier? Blax-Pride!!!

This is probably my FAVORITE soundtrack of all time.
Top 5 at the least.
No breaks or heavy funk, but awesome mysterious slightly funky lounge grooves.......sweet keyboard textures, from organ and piano to analog synth and rhodes.....all atop a bed of strings and horns.
